  1. Prepare 3 1/2 cups All purpose flour
  2. Get 1 cup Warm Milk
  3. Take 1 tsp Sugar
  4. Take 1 Egg beaten
  5. Take 2 tbsp Yeast
  6. Take 3 tbsp Melted butter
  7. Get Warm water if required some

  9. Prepare Cheese cubes 24, one each cut into 2

  11. Make ready 1 cup sugar
  12. Get 1 cup Water
  13. Take 1 tsp Rose water
  14. Prepare 2 tbsp Black seeds or sesame seeds
  15. Make ready Milk 1/4 th cup additional for milk wash

It's time for the MENA Cooking. Khaliat al Nahl (خلية نحل) means Beehive or honeycomb. This Middle Eastern (Arabian) sweet dish is named after its appearance resembling a honeycomb and Traditionally, sugar syrup is poured over the bread, but I have used honey syrup, which is super easy to make and tastes just as great. It's called honeycomb bread because of the appearance of the buns all snuggled together.

Steps to make Yemenite Honeycomb Bread (Khaliat Al Nahl).. #Baking:
  1. First of all add yeast and sugar to a cup of warm milk.
  2. Stir lightly and allow it to prove.
  3. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl and add the yeast mix into it.
  4. Make a smooth dough out of it.
  5. Knead it well for 5 minutes and cover.
  6. Allow it to rise by keeping it in a warm place for atleast 2 hours.
  7. After 2 hours, punch down the dough once and divide it into four portions.
  8. Divide further into 12 balls each
  9. In this way we will have 48 balls out of the 4 portions.
  10. Arrange them all closely just as to resemble a honeycomb.
  11. Give milk wash and sprinkle blackseeds or sesame seeds on top.
  12. Bake in a preheated oven on 180° for 20 to 25 minutes.
  13. Make sugar syrup of one string consistency with all the ingredients listed under it.
  14. While it's still hot and just out of the oven, pour this sugar syrup on top so as to drench it completely.
  15. Tadaa!!!!!! It's all ready to be devoured.
