The ingredients needed to make Broccoli & Prawns Okonomiyaki:
  1. Prepare 1/2 head Broccoli *finely chopped or shredded
  2. Get *Note: Broccoli stems are the best. Add as much as you can mix with the batter
  3. Make ready 100 g Prawns *OR other protein, cut into small pieces if large
  4. Prepare 1-2 Spring Onions *finely chopped
  5. Take 1 cup Plain Flour OR Self-Raising Flour
  6. Take 1 cup Water
  7. Make ready 2 Eggs
  8. Get 1 pinch Salt
  9. Get 1/4 teaspoon Dashi Power *optional
  10. Make ready Oil for cooking
  11. Get Okonomiyaki Sauce
  12. Get Japanese Mayonnaise
  13. Make ready Aonori, Katsuobushi (Bonito Flakes), Benishoga (Pickled Ginger) *optional

Steps to make Broccoli & Prawns Okonomiyaki:
  1. Make the batter by mixing the Flour, Water, Eggs, Salt and Dashi Powder.
  2. Add finely chopped or shredded Broccoli, Prawn pieces and Spring Onion to the batter and mix it well.
  3. Oil a barbecue hotplate or a frying pan, pour the mixture to form pancakes. When the edge of the pancake has set, flip the pancakes over, and cook for 2 or 3 minutes until all the batter is cooked. You may turn the pancakes over a few times while cooking.
  4. Place the pancake on a plate, and dress with Okonomiyaki Sauce and Japanese Mayonnaise. Sprinkle with Aonori or other toppings if you like. *Today I sprinkled with chopped Parsley.
