The ingredients needed to make spaghetti bolognese:
  1. Get 350 grams mince beef
  2. Get 2 clove garlic crushed
  3. Prepare 1 medium onion finely diced
  4. Take 1 medium tin of tomatoes
  5. Prepare 1 tbsp tomato puree
  6. Prepare 1 tbsp sugar or a carrot to get rid of tartness from the tomatoes
  7. Get 2 cubes of frozen spinach or a handful of fresh
  8. Take 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  9. Take 1 pinch oregano
  10. Take 1 dash cooking oil
  11. Make ready 200 grams spaghetti
  12. Prepare 2 beef oxo (dry beef stock) cubes
  13. Take 2 rashers of bacon fried crispy and diced

Get that depth of flavour by cooking the sauce very gently until it's super rich. Spaghetti Bolognese is a classic Italian meat sauce that is a staple in most families. My super simple Spaghetti Bolognese is the perfect dinner for any night of the week and will wow your family or guests. Spaghetti with meatballs and tomato sauce.

Instructions to make spaghetti bolognese:
  1. heat the oil in a pan and add the mince and crumble 1 oxo. stir until nearly brown
  2. add the onions, garlic and last oxo, brown off the rest of the mince. add the tin, puree, sugar, worcestershire sauce and oregano
  3. reduce to a low heat to simmer, add the spinach and start cooking the spaghetti
  4. to stop the spaghetti sticking hold it in a pan of boiling water (no oil or salt needed) in the centre and twist then release so it lands as shown
  5. after 10 seconds you can push it all down so it looks spiraled. once softened keep stirring to prevent sticking. test by breaking one piece. it should be clear throughout
  6. drain and add to bolognese. swirl with a large fork to serve and top with bacon. I added parmesan and a toasted garlic muffin

It doesn't take a lot of ingredients (or a lot of money) to make a classic Bolognese recipe. What it does take, though, is patience for the sauce to achieve the ideal authentic texture.
