  1. Preheat oven to 180, prepare cake tin. You can either use big cake pan or 2 small cake pans of equal size
  2. Sieve flours, salt and baking powder in a bowl. keep it aside
  3. Blend sugar and butter in a bowl until creamy
  4. Add eggs, 1 at a time and blend until pale and frothy
  5. Add vanilla extract and blend
  6. Add milk and blend well
  7. Slowly add dry ingredients. cut and fold until well combined
  8. Pour batter into prepared cake tin. Tap and level evenly
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until done
  10. Allow to cool for 30 minutes, demould the cake and cool
  11. In case you have prepared big cake, then slice cake in 2 equal halves. keep it aside
  12. Whip cream to form peaks. keep it aside
  13. Place one part of sliced cake or 1 small cake on serving dish. spread jam evenly on top
  14. Now spread the whipped cream evenly on top of jam
  15. Place the second half of sliced cake or second small cake on top
  16. Dust with powdered sugar on top. Slice and serve
